Digitally reproduced from original glass lantern slides, the forerunner to the 35mm slides that we may be more familiar with, all our pictures faithfully capture a moment of times passed. The most recent being over 80 years old, and the most distant dating back to around 1860, over 150 years ago.
From sketches of the very first railways to artist impressions of Cunard’s Queen Mary. From Royal portraits to elegant ladies promenading under parasols. Every one tells its own story. There’s even a complete gallery of unique pictures of places in Scotland by George Washington Wilson, the renowned photographer to Queen Victoria, who died in 1893.
